Yahoo SERPs Security Alert

By admin | September 3, 2008

Yahoo seems to be one step quicker than Google to tell any security risk with sites displayed in SERPs.

Google simply display the results and when you click on the contaminated link then It shows Google Alert and not the page which is clicked. This is great feature for security.

But Yahoo shows security Alert on top of the SERPs page saying — “1 potentially harmful website is marked on this page.” in red color.

You can easily find which link is contaminated because Yahoo displays the Alert with that link in red color which reads– “Warning: Dangerous Downloads” or something like that. This helps visitors NOT to click that link and avoid even visiting such url.

Isn’t it great?

But one thing still making me un-ease is - Why Google, Yahoo and probably other Search Engine display such sites in SERPs? Is it a problem with top search engines? Or search engines want visitors to visit such sites but at their own risk? I am looking for comments here. :)
